Barcelona defeated Red Star Belgrade 5-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday thanks to goals from striker Robert Lewandowski in each half.
La Liga leaders Barcelona, who have scored 24 goals in six straight victories across all competitions, including crushing defeats of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, had yet another decisive triumph.
With nine points, Barca moved up to sixth place in the 36-team Champions League standings.
Red Star has zero points from four games and is sluggishly occupying 35th place.
When Barcelona defeated local rivals Espanyol 3-1 in La Liga on Sunday, manager Hansi Flick made two changes, starting Dutch midfielder Frenkie De Jong for the first time since he recovered from an ankle injury.
Defender Inigo Martinez gave the Spanish team the lead after just 13 minutes with a close-range header from a Raphinha free kick in the 13th minute, but Silas equalised with a clean goal from a swift counterattack after Barca’s hard offside trap.
However, Barca maintained composure and adhered to their aggressive strategy, applying pressure to the home team and creating multiple opportunities before Lewandowski scored a rebound from a Raphinha goal in the 43rd minute and increased Barca’s lead eight minutes into the second half with a first-time goal from a cross by Jules Kounde.
Before replacement Milson cut the deficit for the home team, the French full-back also set up Raphinha for Barca’s fourth goal and contributed his third assist in the 76th minute, setting up Fermin Lopez to score Barca’s fifth goal from inside the box.
Barca has the greatest attack in the Champions League this season with 15 goals in four games.
Raphinha and Lewandowski are tied for the competition’s top five scorers with Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting.
