The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has explained how Faisal, son of former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi died in a fatal accident.
Faisal died in a tragic auto crash along the Kaduna-Kano highway on Saturday.
Kabir Nadabo, the Kaduna State Sector Commander of the FRSC, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.
Nadabo also reported that two other individuals involved in the accident remain unconscious.
The crash occurred at Lambar Zango on the Zaria-Kaduna highway around 6:15 p.m. Nadabo explained that the accident was caused when the front right tyre of a KIA vehicle traveling from Zaria to Kaduna detached from the vehicle, causing it to somersault.
He said three male were involved in the crash and that a rescue team from RS1.17 Birnin Yero responded to the scene but found that arrangements had already been made to transport one of the victims to a hospital in Kaduna.
Nadabo added that it was later revealed that Faisal Makarfi, son of the former governor, was one of the victims, saying that he was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital, while the other two victims, including the driver, remain unconscious.
Faisal has since been buried after prayers were offered for his at the Sultan Bello Mosque, Unguwar Sarki, Kaduna.
