Esteghlal and head coach Pitso Mosimane have officially parted ways after just four months, following unresolved issues regarding unpaid wages. Mosimane, along with his entire technical team—Maahier Davids, Musi Matlaba, Kabelo Rangoaga, and Kyle Solomon—has left the Iranian club due to non-payment of salaries for over two months.
Despite arriving with high expectations, Mosimane’s tenure was marred by financial instability and administrative challenges. The South African coach had been pushing for solutions, but with no progress made, he and his staff opted to terminate their contracts.
Esteghlal had hoped Mosimane’s expertise would lead them to success, but the off-field issues proved too great a distraction. With his departure, the club now faces the challenge of finding a replacement while also addressing the financial concerns that led to this abrupt exit.
Mosimane, widely respected for his achievements with Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Al Wahda, will now look ahead to his next challenge. His availability is sure to attract interest from clubs seeking an experienced and successful coach.
