Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi has described his maiden call-up to the Black Stars as a “dream come true” after being included in Ghana’s 25-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Antwi, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in July following a challenging season that saw his former club, Accra Great Olympics, relegated from the Ghana Premier League, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent his country on the international stage.
“I have been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time, and it’s truly a dream come true,” Antwi shared with reporters. “This call-up is not only a personal milestone but also shows I made the right decision by joining Asante Kotoko. The support and competition here have pushed me to grow, and now I feel ready to give my best for the Black Stars.”
Since his move to Asante Kotoko, Antwi has made a significant impact with his solid performances in the midfield, attracting the attention of Black Stars selectors. His call-up has been widely celebrated by fans of the Porcupine Warriors, who see his success as a testament to the club’s commitment to developing talent capable of shining on both the national and international stages.
As Ghana prepares for its critical qualifiers, Antwi’s inclusion adds depth and youthful energy to the squad, as the Black Stars look to secure their place in the AFCON 2025 tournament.
