Côte d’Ivoire demonstrated their supremacy in a resounding 4-0 victory over Chad in Abidjan on Tuesday, while Zambia emerged as the group leaders in the final Group G game of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Both Côte d’Ivoire and Zambia had already qualified for the AFCON 2025 in Morocco going into the last round.
The battle for first place in the group, however, gave the final games an advantage.
Côte d’Ivoire defeated Chad with a dominant performance in Abidjan.
The Elephants’ better talent was demonstrated with goals from Vakoun Bayo, Simon Adingra, Emmanuel Agbadou, and Oumar Diakité.
Even with the victory, their attempt to win the group was hampered by their two defeats earlier in the campaign.
Zambia finished first in their group thanks to their consistency during the qualifiers, which included four victories and just one defeat.
