Tottenham Hotspur are intensifying their pursuit of Chelsea defender Axel Disasi as they scramble to address a growing defensive crisis.
The situation worsened after Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury during Spurs’ Europa League win over Elfsborg.
This cast doubts on his availability for the remainder of the season.
Manager Ange Postecoglou admitted the severity of Dragusin’s injury remains uncertain:
“Hard to tell (the extent of the injury). It’s a knee (issue), (but we’ve) got to let it settle down. Always a concern when it’s a knee injury, but we have to wait and see.”
Tottenham initially targeted AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori, with reports suggesting a deal was in place.
However, the English defender has opted to stay in Italy, forcing Spurs to consider other options.
Chelsea’s Axel Disasi has now emerged as a prime alternative.
The Frenchman has also drawn interest from Aston Villa, with whom he has reportedly agreed personal terms.
Despite this, Spurs have now entered the race, looking to finalize a deal before the transfer window closes.
