Frank Lampard returns to the bench. The former Blues player and coach is officially the new coach of Coventry City, a Championship club.
This will be his fourth club as head coach after Derby County (2018-2019), Chelsea (2019-2021, then 2023 as interim) and Everton (2022-2023). He is committed to Coventry until 2027.
“Coventry City are pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Lampard as the club’s new head coach. The 46-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Sky Blues and will take charge of the first team this Saturday against Cardiff City,” the English club announced.
Doug King, owner and executive chairman of Coventry City, welcomed the arrival of the former England international. “Frank has a proven track record in the Championship and knows what it takes to succeed in this league. His experience at Chelsea and Everton will enable him to bring to our talented squad a clear understanding of what is required to succeed at the highest level that we, as a club, strive to achieve.”
