Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a series of strategic appointments designed to enhance his administration’s capacity to deliver effective governance.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointments take immediate effect and reflect the administration’s commitment to good governance and infrastructure development.
Among the key appointees is Hon. Ahmad Muhammad Speaker, who will serve as Special Adviser on Publicity. Hon. Ahmad is a seasoned politician with extensive experience, including three terms as Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government and a stint as the former APC State Organizing Secretary.
Similarly, Engr. Ahmad has been named Special Adviser on Works, a move signaling the administration’s renewed focus on advancing infrastructure projects across the state.
The Governor also appointed Malam Sani Abdullahi Tofa as Special Adviser on Special Duties. Malam Sani Tofa is a distinguished figure with a rich career, having served as a Khadi in Sharia Courts in Kano and Abuja, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Civil Service, and a former Director General of the Kano State Shari’a Commission.
Additionally, Hon. Ibrahim Jibrin Fagge was named Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, while Hajia Ladidi Ibrahim Garko will serve as Chairman of the Kano State Civil Service Commission. Both individuals previously held prominent roles as Commissioners of Finance and Tourism, respectively.
The statement further disclosed that the Governor will preside over a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Monday, 6th January 2025, at 11:00 AM, in the Ante-Chamber of the Kano Government House.
The event will also include the inauguration of seven newly-screened commissioner nominees by the Kano State House of Assembly, alongside the newly appointed Special Advisers.
These appointments underscore Governor Yusuf’s unwavering commitment to assembling a team of seasoned professionals and public servants to propel Kano State’s development agenda.
