The Chipolopolo boys have moved seven rungs up on the global charts, according to the latest FIFA rankings.
According to the latest rankings released today, Zambia now sits 87th on the global charts and 18th in Africa. African champions Coted’Ivoire are sixth in Africa and 46th in the world while Morocco remain top of the continent and 14th on the globe.
Zambia’s next opponents in their Group E USA/Canada/ Mexico FIFA World Cup qualifier Tanzania are ranked 106th in the world while Niger 122nd. The Chipolopolo’s rise has been aided by their two back-to-back wins in the Group G Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Coted’Ivoire and Sierra Leone.
Zambia beat Coted’Ivoire 1-0 before battering Sierra Leone 2-0 to end as table toppers and seal their ticket to the Morocco 2025 AFCON.
