Hoffenheim’s sporting director, Andreas Schicker, has expressed his admiration for Gift Orban.
Orban joined the Bundesliga side on a permanent transfer from Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon on Thursday.
Hoffenheim will pay €9 million plus €3 million in add-ons to secure his services.
The Nigerian striker signed a contract running until 2029.
The 22-year-old previously faced Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League during his time with Belgian Pro League side KAA Gent.
Schicker is optimistic that the forward will deliver for the club.
“Gift Orban made his last start against us in the Europa League. The days leading up to the game against Wolfsburg will do him good,” he told the club’s official website.
“But he has a good physique, a good feeling for depth, and is very quick to start. Gift also brings a certain goal threat.
“He showed his quality during his time at KAA Gent. And if you break down his goal ratio at Lyon into minutes, it is also extremely good.”
