The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has released the guidelines for the recruitment of more than 2,000 teachers, NCE and Graduate Level jobs in the state, saying both Abians and non-Abia indigenes residing in the state are qualified to apply if they have the requisite credentials.
The employment is for teachers in Primary, Secondary and Technical Colleges in the State.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Goodluck Chinedu Ubochi and sighted by DAILY POST on Wednesday, said the application portal which opened on Wednesday, 29th January, will close after two weeks.
The statement said persons with physical and medical disability can apply for the teaching jobs even as successful candidates with NCE certificates would be deployed to primary schools while other successful candidates can be sent to any part of the State, including rural and riverine communities.
The State government while maintaining that the exercise is free of charge without any form of extortion, said interested applicants would only be informed through text messages and E.mail, adding that only the successful persons would be invited for oral interview/ micro teaching practice before deployment.
Explaining the reason for the inclusion of Non-indigenes, the Chairman of 7-man recruitment Transparency committee, Dr Uzoamaka Amah-Mbah who spoke to Journalists early in the week, said Governor Alex Otti is a detribalized leader who does not discriminate but treats every law abiding and qualified resident as Abia indigene.
