Fans on social media already can’t get enough of Freida McFadden’s novel The Housemaid, and soon they’ll be able to see the thriller come to life with some of the biggest stars. which at one point this summer was the top trending book on TikTok.
Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried—who will costar and serve as executive producers of the movie—as well as costars Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone and director Paul Feig revealed that filming has begun. And, given the book’s TikTok fame, used social media to deliver the news.
The Housemaid‘s official social media pages released a video from set Jan. 3 of Sydney, Amanda, Brandon, Michele and Paul hilariously recreating a TikTok of someone documenting their reaction to the novel.
As for what to expect when the film hits the big screen? A while lot of twists and turns, for starters. The psychological thriller follows a maid named Millie, who will be played by Sydney, who starts working for a couple, played by Amanda and Brandon, that is hiding many secrets.
