In a surprising twist in the transfer market, Napoli’s Sporting Director Giovanni Manna has firmly dismissed the possibility of Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray, stating that the Turkish club lacks the financial resources to complete the deal. Osimhen, whose performances have consistently dazzled, was reportedly a key target for Galatasaray, with interest to make his stay in Turkey permanent. However, the €75 million fee Napoli is demanding has proven a steep hurdle.
Galatasaray’s interest wasn’t the only one on the table; their rivals Fenerbahce have also expressed intent, with both Turkish giants contemplating €50 million bids—significantly lower than the sum Napoli invested in Osimhen four years ago. Despite the strong interest, Manna was clear that such offers fall short.
“Our door is closed to negotiations. Galatasaray does not have the budget to pay this amount at this moment. The fee is €75 million, there are many teams that want Osimhen. They are ready to pay this amount,” Manna stated, underscoring that other clubs, likely with greater financial power, are prepared to meet Napoli’s valuation of the Nigerian star.
With Osimhen’s name in high demand, it appears Napoli will wait for a club willing to meet their asking price, while Galatasaray and Fenerbahce may need to rethink their approach if they hope to bring the prolific forward to the Super Lig.
