The Super Eagles also improved, rising from sixth to fourth place in Africa.
The Eagles trail Senegal (20th), Egypt (30th), and Morocco (13th), Africa’s top-ranked team in the world.
In Group D of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, Benin Republic, who will host the Eagles on matchday five, fell to 95th place in the rankings.
Rwanda, the AFCON qualifiers’ matchday 6 opponent, rose to 126 in the most recent ranking, while Libya fell to 122.
