Nduka Junior, the home-based Eagles’ captain, has emphasised that they need to earn a spot in the tournament.

“The future lies in our hands right now, we need to qualify by all means and at the same time we know we have to defend as well because the best way to defend is to attack,” he told Pan-Africa Football.
“The last time I watched Ghana play against Nigeria was in Abuja, our stadium was vandalized.
” We know how they [Ghana] gave us a bitter pill and this time round we need to give them the same pill as well because we know what is at stake.
“It is a must win for us, no compromise about it.”
