Stellenbosch Football Club can confirm that midfielder Jayden Adams has completed a permanent transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Hailing from Stellenbosch, Adams became the first graduate of the Club’s academy to be promoted to the first team when he signed a professional contract in 2020. His senior debut followed shortly thereafter, and the 23-year-old went on to make 139 appearances in total, the second most in the Club’s history.
He was part of the Stellies squad that secured the 2023 Carling Knockout title and helped the Club qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup the following year, while also earning international recognition with Bafana Bafana, where he notably helped South Africa claim the bronze medal at the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
“Jayden Adams’ development and growth as a footballer is the epitome of what the Club strives to achieve—being a pipeline for local talent and providing a platform for young players to develop and thrive,” Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie said.
“His journey from the academy to becoming a full international and one of the most sought-after players in the country, is a testament to both his immense talent and the Club’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent. We can only wish him every success at Mamelodi Sundowns.”
