Colin Egglesfield is sharing inspiration amid a tough life challenge.
The Something Borrowed actor, who starred alongside Kate Hudson, John Krasinski and Ginnifer Goodwin in the 2011 romantic comedy, recently detailed his fight with prostate cancer, years after battling two rounds of testicular cancer in the aughts.
“Thankfully, we caught my prostate cancer early,” Colin shared in a Jan. 21 Instagram post, “and after a year of doing a lot of research and talking to quite a few health care professionals, I elected to be proactive and have surgery.”
The 51-year-old—who was first diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2006 not long after getting cast in soap opera All My Children—reflected on a quote he had from an interview in 1998, prior to his cancer battles.
“‘It’s not the hand that you’ve been dealt because you can’t change that. It’s how you play the cards that counts,’” Colin recollected, adding of the quote, “In the spirit of what I said in my interview, this is another opportunity to decide who I choose to be in the face of uncertainty and challenges in my most recent cancer diagnosis.”
