Barcelona forward Raphinha has surprised his 17-year-old teammate, Lamine Yamal, with a custom-designed £10,000 iPhone to celebrate his Kopa Trophy victory.
The Brazilian was inspired by Lionel Messi, who famously gifted gold iPhones to Argentina’s World Cup squad after their 2022 title.
Yamal’s exceptional season has seen him honoured with the Kopa Trophy for the world’s best under-21 player.
Additionally, he was named Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024, helping Spain win the title, and also earned La Liga’s Under-21 Player of the Year award for the 2023/24 season.
The Barcelona’s teenage sensation holds the record as the youngest La Liga champion, having received a medal at just 15 years old for his contribution to Barca’s 2022/23 title win.
Raphinha, one of Barcelona’s five captains under new coach Hansi Flick, presented the gold iPhone designed by I Design Gold, celebrating Yamal’s rapid rise and accomplishments.
This season, Raphinha has been a standout with 12 goals and ten assists in 17 matches, while Yamal has continued his form with six goals and eight assists in 16 appearances across La Liga and the Champions League.
