President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to leave Abuja on Saturday to attend the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025).
According to reports, the invitation was extended by the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The summit is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from January 12 to 18.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed that the summit aims to unite global leaders in accelerating sustainable development and advancing socioeconomic progress.
This year’s event, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” will provide a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and civil society to explore strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and fostering global prosperity. Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, held annually for over 15 years, has become a hub for fostering collaboration among stakeholders, addressing global challenges, and driving sustainable growth.
The event has also facilitated high-value agreements and strategic partnerships among governments, industry leaders, and clean energy innovators, promoting impactful alliances and advancing the global sustainability agenda.
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s reforms, particularly in areas such as energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development. Additionally, he and his delegation will hold discussions with UAE leaders on matters of mutual interest between the two nations.
The President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials. He is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
