The Benue State Police Command has commenced enforcement of third-party motor insurance in the state.
This was contained in statement on Sunday command’s spokesperson, CSP Anene Sewuese Catherine.
She said the commencement of enforcement of the policy is in compliance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Steve Yabanet.
Anene further said that all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Traffic officers are to ensure compliance.
“Effective from February 1, 2025, all motorists must possess valid third-party insurance. Those found without it will face legal action as stipulated by relevant laws.
“Motorists are advised to comply with this policy to avoid inconveniences that may come with the enforcement process.”
