Victor Osimhen was once again the savior in Super Eagles AFCON 2025 against the Benin Cheetahs in Abidjan on Thursday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles were saved by Victor Osimhen.
Just prior to the match, Nigeria had already earned a spot in the 2025 African Cup of Nations as Libya defeated Rwanda.
After Stanley Nwabali made a mistake in goalkeeping, Mohammed Tijani scored the first goal for the home team in the sixteenth minute.
Throughout the first half, the Super Eagles’ attempts to tie the score were unsuccessful.
After taking the lead in the second half, the three-time African champions were unable to rally until the 77th minute. To make it 1-1, Osimhen climbed to the top of Moses Simon’s cross.
Both sides tried to win the game towards the end but all the efforts proved futile as the game ended 1-1.
Already qualified Super Eagles will face Rwanda in the final game while Benin will play away to Libya.
