Olubadan seeks more civilian Customs relations

The Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun has charged the leadership of the Oyo-Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service to build and consolidate on social and civil relations with the citizens of the South West Nigerian state.

 

The monarch gave the advice in Ibadan when the Customs Area Comptroller Ben Oramaalugo led a delegation of senior officers to the Palace of the Olubadan where he promised to frontally tackle the spate of drug trafficking and sales of illicit substances.

 

It is his first official assignment since his deployment on the 18th of September to Oyo State as Customs Area Comptroller and this customs boss his senior officers had thought it wise to seek counsel from the Olubadan even as it seeks to address the issues of drug trafficking and proliferation of dangerous substances.

 

The Oyo-Osun Command is strategic to the enhancement of trade and commercial activities and this is why the Olubadan in Council wants customs officers and its men to be more civil in its dealings with the public in such a way that would address the issue of poverty.

The leadership of the Oyo-Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service asides revenue generation, the Agency seeks to drastically reduce the spate of smuggled imported products which its says was detrimental to Nigeria’s economic prosperity.
