Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has decorated 207 newly promoted senior officers with their new ranks.
While decorating the officers on Tuesday in Benin, the state Commandant of the Corps, Mr Gbenga Agu said that the new rank was a call to higher responsibilities, dedication, efficiency and effectiveness.
He charged the promoted officers to gird their loins to justify the responsibilities given to them, urging them to be always available to fly the corps’s flag.
“The popular saying of ‘to him more is given, much is expected’ comes into play here.
“Be motivated by your achievements; get affiliated with the challenges of your new rank, departmental members.
“Gain the trust of your colleagues, and motivate yourself to fulfill the basic needs of realising your potential of reaching the peak of your personal growth and experiences,” he said.
According to him, the corps was taking a more positive outlook of employees, hence the belief in their skills and professionalism.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, a Deputy Commandant, Nelson Adetan, said the gesture would be reciprocated with more dedication and hard work.
Adetan commended the corps for finding them worthy of the elevation.
The promoted officers include six Deputy Commandants, three Assistant Commandants, nine Chief Superintendents, and 92 Superintendents.
Others are 25 Deputy Superintendents, 35 Assistant Superintendents I, and 37 Assistant Superintendents II.
