Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has commended his players for Monday’s matchday eight victory in Minna.
Seiyefa Jackson’s lone strike secured the maximum points for Rivers United against Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.
Finidi said his side deserved to beat their opponent.
“It was a well-deserved victory, and my goalkeeper made one last brilliant save that would have been an equaliser for them,” Finidi stated in a post-match interview.
“It was a difficult game. We knew from the onset that it was going to be a difficult game.
“We played to our best. The players gave it their all. I must commend the players for their efforts.
Rivers United moved to the top of the table following the win.
