Manchester United defeated Fulham 1-0 thanks to a deflected shot from Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez’s effort from 30 yards out bounced off Sasa Lukic and went past Bernd Leno in the Fulham goal, capping a game devoid of good chances.
Despite Amad’s second goal being disallowed in stoppage time due to a VAR review for offside, it was the sole shot on goal for Ruben Amorim’s team, who had otherwise failed to seriously injure their opponents.
To be honest, Fulham had not produced much of their own until Toby Collyer, a replacement, spectacularly cleared Joachim Andersen’s thundering header off the line in the closing moments.
The win moves United up to 12th place, while Fulham’s attempts to force their way into the European football debate were dashed, and they are now in 10th place.
