Serie A team Udinese has announced that Maduka Okoye, the custodian for the Super Eagles, would have surgery to treat a wrist injury.
The 24-year-old was hurt during Udinese’s league match against Genoa.
The team said in a statement on Monday that the Zebras will have the procedure in the next few days.
It is anticipated that the former Rotterdam goaltender would miss a few weeks of action. Okoye has already been ruled out of tonight’s matchup with Monza in Serie A.
In the second half of the previous season, the goalie made a name for himself as Udinese’s best shot stopper.
He has made 14 league appearances for Kosta Runjaic’s team this season.
