Liberia national team head coach Thomas Kojo has invited 26 local-based players to commence preparations for the Lone Stars’ upcoming matches against Senegal in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
Meanwhile, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) successfully concluded a two-day Match/Video Analysis Course on Friday at its headquarters in Congo Town.
The course brought together 27 coaches and aspiring match/video analysts to enhance their skills in analyzing match footage and optimizing team performance. Participants explored tactical breakdowns and player performance analysis, gaining valuable insights into how video can improve coaching, strategy, and decision-making.
Amsalu Fantahun, a CAF guest instructor and recently named NCCAA West Region Coach of the Year under the NCAA Division II PacWest Conference, served as the lead facilitator for the course.
LFA President Mustapha Raji expressed his gratitude to Amsalu for dedicating his time and resources to sharing his knowledge with Liberian coaches. He also urged participants to apply what they had learned.
“My appreciation to the lead facilitator [Amsalu Fantahun] for the video analysis course, the first of its kind in our country with onsite training. I believe those of you who participated gained something valuable. Let me assure you that this is not the end. This course will continue over time until we become experts and can conduct similar training within our own country,” Raji said.
The course was conducted in two phases, with the first part held online via Zoom.
