Troops from Sector 7 of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully arrested a notorious gunrunner and his accomplice, seizing a significant cache of arms and ammunition during an operation in Kaduna State.
The operation, based on intelligence gathered, took place on Sunday, January 20, and led to the capture of 62-year-old Timothy Yusuf and his son, Timothy Obadiah, in Fadiya Village, located in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
According to Zagazola Makama, the troops recovered 11 fabricated rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 60 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.
“The suspects, along with the seized weapons and ammunition, are currently in custody for further investigation. Efforts are also underway to locate and apprehend other members of the gunrunning syndicate,” a source stated.
