Newcastle United have claimed a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The game kicked off with Tottenham taking an early lead through a well-taken goal by Dominic Solanke in the 4th minute, capitalizing on a swift counter-attack initiated by Pedro Porro.
However, Newcastle quickly responded, equalizing just two minutes later via Anthony Gordon, who finished off a move started by Bruno Guimarães.
The highlight of the game came in the 38th minute when Alexander Isak, in red-hot form this season, scored his 9th goal, giving Newcastle the lead.
Isak’s goal was a testament to his current form, having now scored in seven consecutive games, proving to be a vital figure in Newcastle’s attack.
Despite Tottenham’s efforts to level the score, particularly through the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, Newcastle’s defense held firm.
The victory moves Newcastle at the same point with Chelsea, battling for the top-four position, meanwhile, Tottenham sit 11th with just 24 points.
They have only managed five points in the last eight Premier League outings, resulting to more pressure on Ange Postecoglou to turn things around.
