Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted two women at a gunpoint in phase 11, the Lokogoma estate  area of  Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

City & Crime gathered that the incident happened at the  weekend around 6.30 pm in the Lokoja metropolis.

One of the abducted  women identified as Mrs Afolabi Toyin is the   CEO of Testayo supermarket who sells children materials  in the phase 11 area of Lokoja, while the second woman,  Mrs Taiwo Hannah Orebiyi,  is said to be a  wife of the  Chairman, Kogi Tourism Board.

A family source said the hoodlums  trailed the super market owner to  her house in the Lokogoma phase 11 estate, picked and ferried her to an unknown destination.

The wife of the  chairman, Kogi Tourism Board, was said to have been kidnapped along with the supermarket owner for raising alarm over their action  when she was passing by during their operation.

“Mrs Orebiyi incurred the wrath of the hoodlums when he raised the alarm of the ongoing incident at the supermarket.  Suddenly, some of the hoodlums swung on her, forced her into their car and zoomed off,” said an eyewitness, who craved anonymity.

The state police command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Williams Aya, did not respond to the text messages sent to him on the incident.
