Medeama SC have parted ways with head coach Nebojsa Kapor following a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Vision FC on matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League. The loss marks the 2022 Premier League champions’ fourth defeat of the season and adds to their struggles in what has been an inconsistent campaign.
Kapor’s exit comes amid mounting pressure as the Tarkwa-based side, who began the season as title favourites, have failed to live up to expectations. Despite their pedigree as Ghana’s representative in the CAF Champions League in 2022, Medeama have struggled to maintain momentum domestically.
Currently sitting three points adrift of league leaders Hearts of Lions, Medeama’s recent form has not been enough to save the Bosnian tactician from the sack. While the club is just three points away from the league summit, management felt a change was necessary to revive their season.
Medeama are yet to announce a replacement for Kapor, and the search for a new head coach is reportedly underway. In the meantime, the club will be looking to go back to the drawing board and turn their season around as they aim to fight for a good position at the top of Ghanaian football.
