The Organising Committee of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has given three points and three goals to TMT FC (W) after their successful protest against Jeshwang United FC in the women’s first division.
Jeshwang have been penalised for fielding an ineligible player in Isatou Sanneh in their week two game, and the decision came following a protest by Today Makes Tomorrow (TMT) FC to the Organising Committee.
In its ruling, the GFF Organising Committee said: “Jeshwang United did not obtain a transfer or clearance for Isatou Sanneh from her parent club (Soccer Girls FA). The GFF rules and regulations regarding player transfer (Article 5, Paragraph 3, page 7) states: “A club that registers a transferred player from another club must surrender the player’s license with the transfer certificate to the General Secretary of the GFF before the player plays his/her first game for his/her new club. A new license shall be issued to the player.”
TMT FC is now awarded the points and goals as per the GFF Disciplinary Code Article 21A.In a similar development, Jeshwang United’s protests in the same match against TMT FC (W) have been rejected by the Organising Committee.
Jeshwang United failed to adhere to Article 7 (paragraph 2) of the GFF rules and regulations, which states that “protests and complaints shall be lodged in duplicate with the Chairman of the Organising Committee and opposing club concerned within 24 hours of the match they relate to.). Thus, Jeshwang United’s protest is deemed null and void.
