Four teams are set to to slug it out on Monday in the semi final matches of the 4th edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament.
The four teams, the defending champions Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Bayelsa and Heartland Queens, advanced to the semifinal stage after winning their quarter final matches.
To advance to the semifinals, Heartland Queens pipped Espoir FC of Benin Republic 1-0, while Nasarawa Amazons came from behind to beat Remo Ladies 2-1 in the game that started on Saturday afternoon, at the University of Benin Sports Complex, but was forced to be put on hold as a result of the heavy downpour.
The match officials had to postpone the match after about 72 minutes of play due to the heavy downpour when the game stood at 1-1.
The remaining part of the game was concluded on Sunday morning at the same venue with the Amazons progressing to the semifinals after a 2-1 victory over Remo Ladies
The defending Champions of the BOWFT and reigning premier league champions, Edo Queens Football Club, has earlier thrashed Abia Angels 4-0 in the first quarter finals match at the University of Benin Sports Complex.
The Edo Queens who look good enough to retain the cup back to back, will be hosting Nasarawa Amazons in one of the semi final matches on Monday, at the University of Benin Sports Kickoff time is 10:00AM.
Former champions Bayelsa Queens and Heartland Queens of Owerri will also be engaged in their semifinals battle at the same time at the Western Boys High School Mini stadium.
