Fat Joe is detailing his weight loss journey.
The “All The Way Up” rapper (real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena) recently shared how Ozempic, which he takes for his type 2 diabetes, assists in keeping off the 200 pounds he lost.
Lauding the drug for its appetite-controlling side effects, Joe joked to US Weekly Oct. 10, “Ozempic says you may only have two pieces of your favorite stuff.”
Of course, Joe isn’t relying solely on the drug to keep off his weight, and also detailed some of his diet changes.
“We just try to eat everything with the least carbs as possible,” Joe explained. “So we try to stay away from the bread, the pasta, the rice. That’s the smartest way to eat.”
The 54-year-old—who is dad to Joey, 33, Ryan, 27, and Azariah, 18, the latter who he shares with wife Lorena Cartagena—emphasized, though, that everything is in moderation.
“This morning I ate breakfast, I had this toast—I cut the corner off, ate it and kept it moving,” he noted. “Normally, I would’ve ate the whole thing. But you know, that’s what we do. We cut carbs and try to be smarter.”
