Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has said he is hopeful of having Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino available to face Chelsea in the Premier League this Sunday.
Both players failed to complete 90 minutes against Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek.
“[We have to] wait to see how they react. Kai’s was quite a nasty cut.
“Mikel wasn’t feeling great and we decided to substitute him at half-time,” Arteta told reporters on Friday.
Arsenal were boosted by the sight of Martin Odegaard making a return as a late substitute in the same match.
Odegaard had missed 12 games since he damaged ankle ligaments playing for Norway in September.
Arteta added: “Everybody that is in the squad will be fit and available to start the game.
“Then it is a decision to see if it is too early.”
