DR Congo sealed their spot at the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON in Morocco with a convincing 2-0 victory over Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, extending their unbeaten run in Group H.
Nathanaël Mbuku’s assist set up Meschack Elia’s calm finish in the 87th minute to break the scoreless first half.
Elia doubled the advantage in the ninetieth minute to seal all three points.
The Leopards now lead the group with 12 points after winning all four of their games.
Due to their guarantee of one of the two spots from the group, the Leopards’ victory ensures their spot in the tournament in Morocco.
With four points, Tanzania is still in second place, but it will be difficult for them to advance because Guinea and Ethiopia are not far behind.
