Zambia U20 Women’s National Team coach Charles Haalubono has named his final 20-member squad for the 2024 COSAFA Under-20 Women’s Championship that will be held in Johannesburg from November 19-24.
Haalubono has named 10 players from Zambia’s U17 Women’s National Team World Cup squad that will blend with previous U17 graduates who have formed the core of his current team.
The Young Copper Queens left for South Africa aboard a Zambia Airways flight at 07h18am and will open their campaign against Lesotho on Tuesday at 12h00CAT at the University of Johannesburg.
Hosts South Africa will entertain Mozambique at 15h00 at the same venue. The tournament’s other competitor includes Mozambique. The teams will receive three points for a win and one for a draw, with the top side in the table after all matches are completed to be crowned 2024 champions.
