Rangers International, the reigning NPFL champions, are focused on starting the second half of the current NPFL season well.
The Flying Antelopes will host the Niger Tornadoes at the Cathedral on Saturday, January 25, 2025, with kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s tutored team is confident heading into the rematch, hoping to extend their winning streak.
Austin Opara, who played every minute of the first round’s games, said,
“It would be a difficult second stanza, but we have our work cut out, which is to ensure that we make Enugu a fortress and as Tornadoes visits.
“They would want to get something from the game but we are focused on starting the second round on a good note.
“I believe we have what it takes to effectively challenge for the title again.”
On his part, left-back, Evans Ogbonda, echoed the optimism of his teammate stressing, “We have been working hard since we resumed from the break, and I believe that Niger Tornadoes won’t be a stumbling block towards our starting the second stanza on a good note.
“I know that they will come with everything but we know what starting the second round with a win means for our target this season.”
