The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has introduced an exciting innovation for the continent. During its ordinary meeting on January 27 in Rabat, the CAF executive committee approved the creation of a new competition: the Women’s Futsal African Cup of Nations.
The inaugural edition is set to take place in Morocco from April 22 to 30, 2025. This tournament marks a significant step forward for women’s futsal on the continent, showcasing its growing popularity and potential.
The stakes will be high, as the two finalist teams will secure qualification for the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the Philippines later that year, in November or December.
This initiative reinforces CAF’s commitment to promoting women’s sports and expanding the futsal discipline across Africa, providing new opportunities for players and teams to shine on both continental and global stages.
