Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen from 2028 to 2029.
According to Patrick Berger of Sky Sports Germany, Boniface’s salary, which was €3 million annually previously, has at least doubled, and he is now among the team’s top earners.
Although clubs from Saudi Arabia and England are still interested in signing the Nigerian, Boniface is content with Leverkusen and the club would only consider selling him for more than €50 million.
In the meantime, Boniface, who is recovering from a thigh injury sustained during the 2025 AFCON qualifying match against Rwanda in November, could play against RB Leipzig.
Xabi Alonso delivered excellent news on the 24-year-old Nigerian who had spent over two months on the sidelines but was on the bench in Leverkusen’s 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
“We do not expect any problems or news (from injuries before the game against Leipzig).
“Let’s train now, but my information is that all (except Adli, Belocian and Terrier) are available, including Victor (Boniface) and Nordi (Mukiele).”
