Super Eagles duo Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo helped Southampton to record their second League victory of the season following a 2-1 win against Ipswich Town.
Joe Aribo’s goal slid through home goalkeeper Arijanet Muric and into the net for bottom-place Southampton, who were both desperate for three points to help their fight for survival.
With top scorer Liam Delap scoring the equaliser on the half-hour mark, the home crowd, who have only witnessed one league victory at Portman Road this season, did not have to wait long.
Onuachu’s goal three minutes from time helped Southampton cut the gap between them and the safety zone to eight points, seven behind 19th-place Ipswich, after Ipswich spurned numerous opportunities to take the lead.
