“The first thing he said to us,” Ali, 40, noted, “was, ‘If you have to get cancer, this is the cancer you want to get.’”
Even so, Kevin expressed how comforting it’s been to have Ali and his family to lean on for support during his health journey.
“It’s going to be fine,” he said, turning to his wife, “and she’s been great through this whole thing. She’s the best.”
Because if there’s one thing that this journey has taught both of them, it’s to not take anything in life for granted—especially when it comes to their loved ones.
“It’s changed my perspective on everyday life,” Ali said. “Truly, you never know when you’re going to wake up tomorrow and things could change.”
“Enjoy every day,” Kevin added, “hug your kids, hug your family, tell your friends you love them.”
