Controversial social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has expressed his frustration over the situation involving Stephen Abuwatseya and House of Representatives member Alex Ikwechegh, who represents Aba North/South of Abia State.
DAILY POST reports that Stephen Abuwatseya, an e-hailing driver, apologised to Alex Ikwechegh for assaulting him during an altercation during a package delivery.
On October 28, Ikwechegh attacked the Bolt driver who was delivering a package to him.
A viral video captured the incident that occurred at Ikwechegh’s mansion in Maitama, Abuja.
In a new video, the socialite recounted how he and his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, tried to hold Alex Ikwechegh accountable for his alleged misconduct.
VDM mentioned that Ikwechegh and his associates reached out to them to ensure compensation for the driver after the issue gained traction online.
VeryDarkMan suggested that the cab driver should receive N20 million and a car as compensation, while the lawmaker proposed lowering it to N5 million and a car.
The activist accused the driver of secretly forming a relationship with the lawmaker behind their backs.
He expressed his disappointment regarding the apology, which he believed was coerced from the cabbie.
He emphasised that Stephen Abuwatseya chose to turn against those who supported him during the controversy.
The counsel, Deji Adeyanju and Partners, representing the driver, has withdrawn their legal representation over the apology.
