The members of the Numan local government Sucks ouse of Assembly have slammed an impeachment notice on the Numan local government chairman, Pharm Christopher Sofere, over series of infractions by the erring LG boss, Rendezvous gathered.
According to an inside source within the local government council, the angry local government legislators unanimously voted and appended their signatures for the immediate impeachment of the embattled LG chair.
The source who spoke to this medium seeking anonymity said, “The LG legislators have had enough of the corruption and maladministration of the local government boss who made it a habit to breach the constitution governing the council and ran the council affairs as if the councillors do not exist and topped his misrule with massive misappropriation of funds of the council.”
The inside source said, “This has been long time coming because stakeholders are tired of intervening of Mr Sofere and the LG legislators.
“The LG boss, Sofere, has been neglecting his duties and squandering LG funds on wild goose chase, actions which have undermined the capacity of the council to serve their constituents well and it is negatively affecting the image and integrity of the councillors in their constituencies and tarnishing the image and good intentions of the fresh air governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.”
This medium reliably gathered that the Numan Council members led by their Speaker, Hon. Nzashi Linus Tonmunongbaso led the council members to serve the Chairman the notice, accusing the chairman of neglecting his role and that of other relevant stakeholders in the area.
The councillors accused Sofore of running the affairs of the LG as if it is his personal business when it is a public affairs.
“We are tired of Mr Christopher Sofere’s misbehaviour. He has not paid attention to the affairs that he was elected to manage and to us as representatives of the people, Numan affairs and people matters most than Sofore’s personal agenda.
“I am aware that they are getting ready to call for a press conference to make their position known on why they moved to impeach him.”
Attempts to get Pharm Sofore’s response to the allegations prove abortive as he is yet to respond to our text inquiries.
