In the Italian Super Cup Final in Saudi Arabia on Monday night, AC Milan pulled off a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over city rivals Inter Milan.
Tammy Abraham completed the comeback with a goal in stoppage time, earning Sergio Conceição, the club’s new head coach, his first trophy.
Samuel Chukwueze, a winger for the Super Eagles, got injured and missed Milan’s game.
Inter was about to win the Italian Super Cup for the fourth time in a row.
With goals from Mehdi Taremi and Lautaro Martinez in either half, the Serie A champions were also poised for a record-tying eighth championship.
However, Milan won it thanks to goals from Christian Pulisic, Abraham, and Theo Hernandez, former Chelsea players.
Juventus is still the most successful team in the competition with nine Italian Super Cup championships, while Milan and Inter are now level with eight each.
Martinez gave Inter the lead in one minute of extra time, and Taremi made it 2-0 barely two minutes into the second half.
With ten minutes remaining, Pulisic tied the game after Milan had taken the lead in the 52nd minute.
Abraham, another former Chelsea player, then scored the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute to give Milan the victory.
