Thugs unleashed mayhem on protesters. They descended on protesters, smashing vehicles and inflicting wounds on labour members.
Already, the whereabout of the NLC president is unknown as heavily armed security personnel took him away
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) had earlier said it would commence industrial actions to protest the alleged violation and abuse of rights and privileges of workers in Imo state on November 1.
Joe Ajaero, NLC president, announced the development at a press conference on Sunday in Abuja.
The NLC president alleged that the Imo government has not paid some workers for 20 months.
