Four people reportedly lost their lives in a devastating road crash that occurred along the Agaie-Lapai Road in Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident reportedly occurred this afternoon, February 3, 2025.
According to the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, two people died instantly, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The agency, in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Hussani, disclosed that the accident involved a head-on collision of three trailer trucks.
He explained that one of the trucks was transporting cattle and goats, adding that the crash was attributed to a reckless attempt to overtake.
In addition to the human lives lost, Hussani stated that the crash also killed 15 cattle and over 20 goats.
The agency also revealed that 13 people were injured and rushed to Agaie General Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The statement further stated that NSEMA Agaie desk officers and some volunteers undertook the rescue operations at the scene of the accident.
