Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has dropped Robert Sanchez from his starting XI for Monday night’s Premier League clash against West Ham.
Sanchez was at fault for Erling Haaland’s goal as the Blues lost 3-1 at Manchester City last weekend.
The goalkeeper has now made five errors leading to goals this season.
Filip Jorgensen has been picked by Maresca to start against the Hammers at Stamford Bridge.
Tosin Adarabioyo also returns to the starting line-up in place of Trevoh Chalobah.
Nicolas Jackson continues to lead the line for Chelsea, with Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Jadon Sancho all in support.
Maresca, speaking to Sky Sports about Sanchez being dropped, said: “It’s always a hard decision to leave out players, especially in this case, the keeper.
“It is not an easy one, but I assessed it during the week.
“The good thing is that we have two good keepers, so we made the decision to change, and we are happy with that.”
On Sanchez’s reaction, Maresca added: “I spoke with him a few days ago, he’s now also tried to help Filip [Jorgensen], so everything is fine.”
