The goal from Victor Boniface helped Bayer Leverkusen defeat Hoffenheim 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
Gift Orban, who has now scored in back-to-back Bundesliga games, was also on target.
Although Nathan Tella played for Xabi Alonso’s team, he was substituted out in the 42nd minute.
A deal fell through during the January transfer window, but Boniface was close to leaving the Bundesliga champions for Al Nassr.
He put that behind him, though, as he gave Leverkusen a 1-0 lead at the fifteen-minute mark.
The victory puts second-place Leverkusen on 45 points, six points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Jeremie Frimpong outpaced his marker on the right and slotted past the keeper to give Leverkusen the second goal in the 19th minute, and Patrik Schick then made it 3-0 in the 51st minute with a volley into the roof of the net.
However, Alex Grimaldo was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for a reckless tackle on minute 61, reducing Leverkusen to 10 men.
