Landlords and other property owners in Umuahia, Abia State capital, have been ordered to pull down every projection in front of their buildings before February 13 or the structures will be yanked off by the State government.
Also, the landlords who converted their residential property to comercial buildings have been directed to immediately revert to the original building purpose and apply for government approvals.
The warnings were given on Saturday by the General Manager of Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA), Mr Kingsley Agomuo when he addressed landlords and other property owners.
He said the State government was out to remove every projection that defaced the esthetics of Umuahia, adding that traders at the centre of the town called Isi Gate would be moved to Afara when the building of the market is completed.
He said relocating the traders would save the beauty of Umuahia from being defaced.
Agomuo explained that his agency would soon come out with the accepted uniform and standard projections for buildings.
